Scenario #2 – Monitoring
Outsourced
Dealer provides monitoring by 3rd party
- This choice has many options and is provided by a number of
companies including Critical Eye, Paragon, Network Monitoring
Service, Wisconsin Wireless, Bellsouth etc. These services typically
sell the device to the dealer or the customer and they provide
monitoring services for a monthly service fee normally between
$70 and $100 month. They deliver alarms in a variety of methods
including email, page, fax and most of them use IrisNgen. IrisNgen
is a client server application running on Windows servers and
has no web access that I have found. A perceived advantage to
some dealers is that these services have a 24x7 call center. Some
3rd party companies provide repair service as well as monitoring
by having technicians on staff as the first line of support for
correcting problems.
Options – Dealer can purchase
the Teltronics system (or others) but they have not in many cases
because of the staff needed to manage the system 24x7. I believe
the limited automation and flexibility of IrisNgen directs many
dealers to outsource.
Benefits SAM offers to dealer:
Immediate remote access via IP and dial-upImproved alarm notification
and managementEasy management and implementation.
Potential Revenue – Most
dealers bundle the cost of monitoring into a maintenance agreement
which ranges from $250 to around $1000 per month. Third party
outsourcing available for $70-$100 per month. Markup on hardware
can generate additional revenue. Sometimes dealers purchase the
alarm devices and sometimes the customer purchases.
Our Pitch – We allow the
dealer to take control of their monitoring services using a superior
web based alarm monitoring solution without the need for a call
center. |
